So let me get this straight, brain.

I see NIN.
Then I see Metallica.
Then immediately afterwards I see HR?

...

ALRIGHT!

Anyone else gonna be there?

i was there!!!!

HR were absolutely amazing!!
the perfect way to end such an amazing weekend, perfect festival closers.
atmosphere was really good, and it just got better and better the longer it went on...

i sprinted over after james hetfield was covered in pies to find the tent quite empty, but it soon filled up once metallica had properly finished.

didnt want HR to end.....

Indeed what an amazing end to an awesome weekend Smile I wish the HR set had been longer but what we were given was incredibly energetic, bang in tune and very exciting Smile
I was a bit frustrated that Metallica overan by quite a bit as I didn't want to miss HR at all so I missed Stone Cold Crazy and Seek & Destroy (well I heard it obviously lol)

Yeah holy fuck, I just read about that like 10 minutes ago. This is why I hate fun fairs! Hope he gets better, what an awful thing to happen. The guy who was operating it must be traumatised too.

Looked about for you guys during HR, I was mostly in the pit area, a bit to the left. My phone battery ran out in the morning on sunday which didn't help matters either!

What a set though, even had my usually-quite-calm mate going mennnntal. Had to leave the pit by the end because it was getting a bit brutal (Metallica diehards just there to fuck shit up), but it was amazing to see the tent grow - we were there when it started and there must've been less than 100 people in that massive tent, then by the end it was rammed.

Bad harnesses, he got thrown off one of the huge spinning deals into a block of toilets - internal bleeding, then recovery, then last I heard his lung had collapsed and he was in an induced coma to try and speed up recovery. Fucking tragic, nothing like that should ever happen to anyone, I can't even imagine what this guy and his family are going through, and all for the sake of just trying to have a fun weekend.

The press describes it as a 'freak accident' but there was nothing freak about it, it was just a dangerous and illegally maintained ride that probably got verified through fake documentation and false safety standards. But then, you wouldn't assume something's dangerous when its main function is to scare you.

Basically, when you see one of those dodgy fairground rides and you think 'wait, is this actually dangerous' then assume it's just because you're drunk that you're worried and it's actually fine, it's probably a good idea to remind yourself the pikey strapping you in is not in fact an expert on health and safety and is mostly interested in your £3. Sends shivers down my spine, because this could've been anyone, including me, if I wasn't such a fairground pussy.

I also got tickets to this the day they went on sale as I wasnt going to miss Metallica playing 20 mins from my doorstep. But my fucking god this line up is incredible and just gets better and better, I found this out this morning whilst sitting in bed, I yelped with joy and started hitting my mattress in excitement haha
