HI! Starting with this, we're going to do some shows and at those shows we'll be playing Ideas Above Our Station (and maybe some other stuff, depending on how long our set is).
The shows will be announced when they can be announced and they will almost definitely disappoint some people because they're not in [LocationX]. We can't tour because of individuals' availability and that limited availability makes it easier to do shows down south. Sorry in advance. In the summer, they will mainly be festival shows. Festivals we like, run by good people.
Also in the summer, Jo Birch (he was in Hell Is For Heroes, you know) will be playing drums for us because Andrew David Bews has to work. In the winter, there'll be a special thing with Bewsy and then that will be it for the foreseeable future.
The aim is to do all of this justice, which we will be trying our damnedest to do. So, hesitate no longer - grab a ticket (that Banquet fest is CHEAP) and let's party like it's 2002 or something.
22/01/2010 : Happy Birthday To Us! A Competition, A Sale, A Memory
Believe it or not, it's ten years ago today that HR played their first proper show - 22nd January 2000 at The Peel in Kingston, supporting Spy Versus Spy. Unforgettable for loads of reasons - 300+ people showed up to see 4 totally underground, unsigned bands; Ashley Bird (soon to be editor) of Kerrang! came all the way out to Kingston; it was my birthday show, so the date was easy to remember.
We gave three homemade HR CDRs out that night. One was to Ash, another to Dan P Carter (who was in 'A' at the time) and I can't for the life of me remember who got the third, it may have been tank - excellent choices, anyway. They were the only demos we ever made - two months or so later, HR were in Kerrang! and supporting Kittie at The Garage.
Nuts to think that was before camera phones and digital cameras and suchlike... My photos from that show are lost in the ether (but if you have some PLEASE email - info@hundredreasons.com - because I'd love to see them) so here's a shot from the very first photo shoot HR ever did, spring 2000.
So there we are. We are ten. LET'S CELEBRATE!
* Firstly, the splendid folk of Atticus have produced a compilation. It's called, fittingly, "Atticus Presents Vol 1" and alongside HR it includes Biffy, Gallows, Rival Schools, Get Up Kids and loads more! You can click to read more and to buy online.
We have FIVE COPIES TO GIVE AWAY along with some Atticus logo shirts. Lovely! Enter our birthday competition by answering this teaser:
Atticus Clothing was founded by members of which band?
Send your answers to info@hundredreasons.com by 5th February. Winners will be picked at random and we'll email to let you know if you've got lucky.
* Secondly, oh my goodness we're having a WEEKEND MERCH MEGA SALE! Starts now, finishes Sunday, 24 Jan.
To mark TEN years of rock, you can get TEN items of merch for TEN pounds! There are only five of these sets available, so don't delay.
There are also huge reductions on other shirts - prices start from just £2!
Thanks for making it to the bottom of this epic post, but most of all thanks for listening. We're lucky to have you.
