31/08/2008 : The Return
Afternoon, you well? Good summer?
Although things appear to have been somewhat quiet in the world of HR, we have been beavering away behind the scenes.
'Quick... Sharp...' now belongs to us and we're looking to license it so that it might be in shops for more than a fortnight this time round! A Japanese release is in the works and will hopefully precede a tour of said country. Which would obviously be amazing.
News on a UK / Euro / etc release and accompanying dates when we have it.
Meanwhile, work is underway towards the album to follow 'Q... S...' which we shall hereafter refer to as 'the new album'. For that is what it will be. New.
Watch this space, as people tend to say at these moments. For there will be more news soon.
02/06/2008 : HR alive, play live.
Yeah, it HAS been a while. Yep. Hello. How the devil are you?
Hundred Reasons will be playing a couple of festivals on 'the continent' in a couple of weeks. Yes, really.
Firstly there is
NOVA ROCK which takes place in Vienna, Austria. This means nothing to me... That's on
Friday 13th June, HR on stage around
3pm.
Secondly, there is
GREENFIELD in Interlaken, Switzerland. Which is on
Saturday 14th June and HR will be on stage around
5pm.
Woo and indeed hoo. Muchos excitement at HRHQ - we shall see those of you who are there, then.
25/01/2008 : James MacVeigh, we salute you
No words needed, except thanks to Ben Price for the photo.
24/01/2008 : London + crowd surfing + hot pants = YES
London. Wow.
As we hit the road to Norwich, there is one thing on everyone's mind, an image burned into the retinas of all who witnessed it, something... unforgettable.
If you are the long-haired gent who crowd-surfed during 'Silver' last night wearing just HR hot pants (and perhaps socks) we want to hear from you. If you are he, send an identifying photo to info@hundredreasons.com - we will shower you in thank you gifts. If the photo is of you wearing the hot pants, so much the better...
London. We love you.
18/01/2008 : Reports From The Road
As anyone who's been to a show on the current tour will attest,
Curtis Mead has been doing an exemplary job taking care of The Andy's business. Before last night's show in Wolverhampton, Curtis sent a report on how things are going:
--
Wolverhampton. We're 6 nights into the tour gearing up in what is definitely the nicest backstage area i've yet to see in the UK, complete with WIFI, a huge lighted vanity mirror for Larry to practice stage faces in and an enormous jacuzzi hot tub. Everything I'd hoped for and more... here's a recap on the days prior.
With just three days of rehearsal under my belt with the boys, we set out for Exeter (Lemon Grove). I was quite impressed with the excitement and support from the crowd. Set the tour off on a warm note...
From Autumn to Ashes are along with us and are also no strangers to a good time, which makes for enjoyable bus travel activities.
Cardiff (The Point): Friends of HR,
The New 1920, opened up the show. Great live energy, definitely looking forward to hearing recordings of these guys. A top-off to this evening was the after party in town, complete with live reggae band and a packed bar. Killer times (and bus dance party to follow).
Plymouth was amazingly well received and definitely the hottest stage any of us had ever played. Drenched and happy.
Southampton University: Better known as "The Night I met The Andy." The drive from Southampton to Brighton was a fun one, started drinking at the Uni pub and finished at the beach in Brighton at 6:30am w/ the FATA fellows.
Slipped in a nap before the Concorde 2 show... nothing short of stellar crowd participation at this show. Luckily the day to follow is a day off, a bit of curry and a true rest you only get from a hotel room later... here we are, chin deep in the jacuzzi. Join me?

The tour moves on to Manchester today. Hello to Abduls and Big Hands... except there's the small matter of an overnight drive to Glasgow. Again, a massive thank you to everyone who's come out, it means loads to us.
There's a bunch of new stuff on the HR site, including
Larry's tour blog and a clutch of new tour photos in the
Gallery.
15/01/2008 : New News
Ah, tour. Exactly where HR belong. Exeter, Cardiff, Plymouth and Southampton have all been great to us - thank you very much if you came along! Today we're in Brighton, beside the seaside.
FATA and
FOR are slaying the crowd every night and much fun is being had. It's been a pleasure having
Mr. Mead on the road.
The Andy came down to Southampton, having put his daughter to bed, and had that surreal experience of watching his own band from in front of the barrier. Check out his photos in the
gallery (when he's put his daughter to bed).
On to more serious matters. Many things have been afoot behind the scenes in the past few weeks and being as they're now a bit clearer it's time for a news update...
Our label,
V2, was recently bought by Universal and now exists in name alone. As such we no longer have a label. So for those of you who've been wondering where the new single / video is - we have no record label on which to release one!
Obviously this is a bit gutting for everyone involved in HR. We poured everything into
Quick... Sharp... and we're massively proud of the results, but the new album ended up being in shops for less than a month before V2 was asset stripped, which is ever so slightly frustrating and, as long term supporters will recall, depressingly similar to when
"Shatterproof..." was released in 2004. Lightning has struck, hard. Twice.
We're working to get the record "back" in the next few weeks, which will mean we will be able to return it to the shops on a new label.
The Euro-wide closure of the label is why the European dates have been
postponed until the spring - we're hoping to reschedule them to coincide with a re-release of the record (and so that The Andy can
return to the road).
In related news, the London show has been moved to the Astoria 2. Unfortunately Hexes will not be performing on Wednesday 23 January.
When the band re-release the record (planned for May 2008) Hundred Reasons will, of course, be touring. But the big question is,
where have the band NOT played enough? This tour isn't booked yet, so come on - this is as good a time as any to go to the
May 08 Tour thread and add your town / venue as a suggestion!
03/01/2008 : Happy New Year!
While Larry and Andy Bews had it large in New York on the final leg of their world tour, The Andy outdid everyone by
becoming a father (though credit should go to Mrs Gilmour, who patently did the hard work). Darcy was born on 28th December and she is absolutely gorgeous - well done you Gilmours!
While The Andy enjoys some quality time with his ladies, HR prepare to hit the road. It's just over a week to the
first show in Exeter and rehearsals start next week with
Mr Curtis Tyler Mead (pictured) standing in on bass. We are super-stoked about this tour and literally cannot wait.
Yes, it's going to snow today (allegedly) and everyone is supposedly recovering from the festive season. But do you really care? Or would you rather come and rock out? We think the latter, so grab a ticket and we'll see you at the front!
20/12/2007 : Happy Holidays
It's Christmas time and there's no need to be afraid... Merry Christmas to one and all, hope your's is a good one. 2007 has been good to us, loads of it being taken up with making 'Quick, Sharp' in Riga and the undoubted highlight that was the
Enter Shikari tour.
Speaking of tours, January just got even better. We've added an extra band to all shows (aside Plymouth, where there isn't space) alongside
From Autumn To Ashes and

So, when your elderly auntie gives you Christmas cash, you know what to do with it. Tickets! Don't hang about.
Larry and Andy are spending the festive season swanning round Australia, New Zealand and the US of A. That's them up there, taking in Sydney. You'll find loads more pics in the
Gallery. If any of you lucky Antipodean types spot our intrepid adventurers on their travels, grab them, take a photo, send it to us and we'll send you a signed copy of
Quick The Word, Sharp The Action for your troubles.
Our other good news is that Andy 'The Andy' Gilmour and his lovely wife Dusana are expecting their first child in January. Needless to say, we're chuffed to bits for them. Being as the birth of your first child is a once in a lifetime event, The Andy's staying home in January and his bass duties will be covered by Mr
Curtis Tyler Mead, who may be known to some of you as bass player for the legendary and now defunct
Chamberlain.
Loads more stuff to come over the festive period, keep 'em peeled. In the meantime, peace and goodwill to all.
19/11/2007 : Special Guests
As you should already know, HUNDRED REASONS are touring in January. We're stoked to be able to tell you that the VERY SPECIAL guests (as exclusively revealed by he that is Daniel "I am slightly older" Carter on the Radio 1 Rock Show) are
FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES.
06/11/2007 : Farewell Enter Shikari, Hello Xfm
Last night, Brixton Academy, was our last show with
Enter Shikari. It's been genuinely awesome. Massive thanks to everyone from the ES camp, who have been so thoroughly great to all of us, and to everyone at the shows for such an amazing reception (and so many adds on MySpace!).
Today, HR will be doing a session for
Music:Response on Xfm, which is on air between 7pm and 10pm. Check the
Xfm site for details of how to listen where you are.
After that, the big news is of course the
January headline tour which you obviously (hopefully) won't want to miss. Get your sticky mitts on tickets using the links to your right and start counting the days...
